Kubo and the Two Strings is a good movie. It’s a story about life and loss. The story has some spiritual elements to it, but they don’t go very deep. Rather the emotional elements are much deeper. Kubo is a story about a boy who has lost most of his family. His father is gone, and his mother is not available most of the time. Despite this, Kubo has fun doing a magical show for the villagers in his town, but he must return before night comes, as his mother commanded. Ultimately, Kubo and the Two Strings is a very spiritual movie, spiritual in that it touches on the issue of the loss of life and it’s relation to a child. It gives children an understanding of how to cope with losses, and that people are never really forgotten. I would recommend this family to any Christian parents wanting to show this to their family.
